• I’ve seen this in use but can’t seem to find it my self. I just want a certain amount of comments per page, say 10 and the next and 1,2,3… etc buttons below.

Anyone know what I’m on about??

    [EDIT]

Comments I have made, not user comments.

    eg.
comment blah blah blah… Link to site.

  • Try to use the proper terminology, otherwise you are going to confuse everybody.

You make posts or entries. Visitors make comments. You can also respond – as comment – to their comments.

    Now, try again.

I’m trying to make sense but not succeeding. I’ll try again…

Within a post I want to be able to make comments which are then paged.

Like how the comments plugin works but for my comments which obviously aren’t generated in the same way. I can’t think of a better word to describe it which is why I can’t find what I need :(.

Within a post I want to be able to make comments which are then paged.

You mean you want to comment your own posts?

What is the “comments plugin”? – Every comment is generated in the same way – if it is a comment.

starry1 – is there another blog or site that you could link to so that we can see an example of what you’re trying to describe?

Frankly, I’m probably more confused than moshu (ok, I’m usually more confused than him, but still…)

I don’t want to comment in the comment area I just want to be able to add comments to my post that are then paged. I’m trying to find an example but can’t.

You cannot find an example… well, because it is nonsense. Sorry.

I want it exactly like that but within a post or page.

It’s for pages I may have to add to alot and I would like them not to go on forever…

Moshu there is no reason to be rude. I’m having trouble expressing myself if you can’t help me fine.

    Anything is possible.

Paged comments is OK. DOwnload and install the plugin.

This is the part that doesn’t make sense! Comments are not “inside”, they are after the post.

Who says comments have to be outside the post?

My own comments can be where ever I put them.

Is it not possible to have a post go across several pages?

OK, I give it up. Please, put your comments wherever you wish.
(Yes, it is possible to have posts go across several pages but that doesn’t change anything).

    Good luck!

So how do you make a post go across several pages please.

Use this tag where you want to break the text:
    <!--nextpage-->

Note. The template file also has to have the proper template tag to make it work.

    Thank You

I guess this will do for now…

P.S. Having the post content “paged” – the comments will stay the same!
    See an example here:
    https://www.transycan.net/blogtest/2005/07/05/integrate/
(I don’t use any comments plugin there, so the same comments are displayed on all the 3 pages of the post! – just to avoid confusion)
