Created a child theme of the theme Attitude. In my style.css I import the parent themes style.css. I changed the text color of the tags #site-title and #site-description but see no change. Are changes being over written in header.php?

  • Did you add your CSS after the import statement? If you inspect the site title using Firebug or Chrome Developer Tools, do you see your changed CSS? The most common reason I see for child theme CSS not working is some sort of syntax error. What you described should work. If you post a link to your site, I can take a look.

The issue was the template name in the header of my custom css. I had copied another css I had created using the Responsive theme and that was screwing things up. I had to choose another theme then reselect the child I created after correcting the css and the problem went away.
