• I have a default background on all pages. However, on the homepage. I want another background only on the main page. However, when I change the settings on the page and update the changes do not take place. In fact they do not even store on the page reload. The drop-downs return to the default setting.

To clarify. If I have the page option to override settings (as Administrator) and I change the drop-downs and click update. When the edit page refreshes everything is back to default settings. Therefore, I cannot change the settings on a per page basis.

I have changed themes too just in case it was a theme conflict.

    Hello,

Assuming it has been set as a static page in WordPress Admin -> Settings -> Reading, this should work.

Editing the page in question, and selecting the appropriate “Image Set”, “Overlay” or “Color” and then clicking the “Update” button for the page should save it (and not revert to default values).

If this is how you’re attempting to make the changes, but it is not working for you, can I ask you to the WordPress Admin -> Appearance -> Background, and then click on the “Debug” link found at the bottom of the page? This may provide more details regarding the issue. If you could forward those details to the e-mail address hello [at] myatus.com, with a reference to this post, that would be appreciated.

I am going to try rebuilding the site from scratch again and see what happens.

The issue is occurring in this step.

“Editing the page in question, and selecting the appropriate “Image Set”, “Overlay” or “Color” and then clicking the “Update” button for the page should save it (and not revert to default values).”

Right after I click Update the settings are all right back to default.

Hmm. I could suggest a couple things:

    • Clear the browser cache
    • Temporarily disable any other plugin, re-enabling them one by one to determine if one may be interfering
    • The new version of BGM (v1.2.5.1) also writes to a .log file (in the plugin main directory) in case it encounters serious errors that might help determine if that’s the case here
