MAMP crashing

I have set up MAMP and I am working on a website on my localhost to practice tutorials and learn more about wordpress without it being live. For the last few days it has worked perfectly but today the MySQL server seems to stop when I’m in the middle of working on my site! I get an error message and the green light has turned red.

I have another one set up at work and the same thing is happening so it can’t be my computer or connection? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my work has halted to a stand still.
