• Hi,

First of all, thank you for making a great plug in. We are enjoying using it.

Today however the client asked me if they could have the Twitter “share” function automatically populate the shared tweet with the post title.

For example, instead of the generic “From [web site name] [post link]” it would be “From [web site name] [post title] [post link]”

Can you tell me how I can accomplish this? Will this require an edit to this default?

    https://twitter.com/share?url=%%url%%&text=%%message%%

(I see that is in the php file; but am not familiar with the syntax of this particular feature.)

    Thanks!

  • Under Settings -> Social Media, locate the twitter entry for the share link and change the url above replacing text=%%message%% to text=%%title%%

Thanks for a really useful plug-in. I followed the advice above and it almost worked but the tweet generated doesn’t process punctuation, so for example dashes come up as &#8211 and apostrophes as &#8217 etc. Is there any way round this?
