• The spinning arrow keeps spinning after pressing “submit.” I check the FAQ and the solution is to deactivate all other plugins and change the theme, which will be a huge, huge work for me.

What I have is “Customizr” theme and plugins Download Monitor, Email before Download (which requires Contact Form 7 installed), Google Analytics, Really Simple CAPTCHA, WP Document Revisions. Does anyone have a clue which of them might cause the conflict?

The spinning arrow icon shows up once I submit a form, but then nothing happens.

This is most probably due to a conflict between plugins/theme. Try deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default theme.

Thanks but my questions is if there’s a way other than deactivating plugins or changing the theme, which will be a huge work for me. This problem is in FAQ that means some people encountered that before. I’d like to know if anyone experienced the same thing with the same plugins I am using.

There is no magic bullet in these situations. This is just the start of basic troubleshooting and is a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits via a series of (often) temporary steps.

    Hi –

I have the same issue –

    deactivated all plugins except:

    configure SMTP V3.1
    contact form 7 V3.5.3
    really simple captcha V1.7

set my theme to TwentyThirteen –

but still getting the spinning icon after submitting, with no confirmation –

    FYI –

Fixed mine – after extensive testing –

This was nothing to do with :

    WordPress version
    Theme
    Spaces at end of functions.php
    Any other plugins

Or anything else I’ve managed to find online.

In my case at least, the solution was either that for Contact Form 7 :-

    1) in Contact settings, I still had the hostgator SMTP settings (which still worked in terms of sending the email)

    or

    2) I had de-bugging mode switched on.

Or both – I changed both at the same time, and I’m damned if I’m going to switch them now to confirm ??

Hope that helps someone out there, because I’ve given myself another bunch of grey hairs!!!! ??

    Darren.

    * re 1) above – I mean I changed to my domain, e.g. original was mail.hostgator….. and I changed to mail.mangopublic.com…..

    3) and I turned off SSL in ‘secure connection prefix’
