Pre-dates Posts and Archives

I have asked a couple of different folks I’ve worked with and have searched these forums and haven’t had any luck.

I write a good many pre-dated posts. They show up at the correct time I have set for them. But they show up in the Recent Posts list and the Archives page immediately. Is there any way to avoid this. i really would prefer that they show up in these areas at the same time the posts show up on the site.
