Drop down menus

  • I am fairly new to wordpress and I am needing to create a dropdown menu similar to a menu where you would select what state you’re in, except that this menu will be asking you to select from different sports teams. Any idea how I can do this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • In which use-case are you seeking to do this?
    -signup?
    – form submit?

    If it’s just a type of data collection I suggest you look at the Contact Form 7 (CF7) plugin..

    Just simple data input, like when you fill out a form that asks which state you reside in. When the user clicks the drop down, a selection of sports teams in alphabetical order comes up for them to select from. I tried using accordian tabs, but that isn’t what I’m looking for…

    But, where would you want to store the selection? In the database on that user, or just sending the selection in an email… Or.. Showing different content based on this..?

    I just need to really get the skeletal structure up right now as I’m not fluent enough to code the functionality… All i want to do is create a drop down menu where the user can select from different teams.

    Ok, then install Contact Form 7, or if you want to spend some money check out Gravity Forms ..
