    Hi,

I would love to see a new feature where an Ajax pop up appears telling user that they earned an achievement or points and as a result the user would see their points updated. It would be neat if it was also associated with a sound. I think this feature exists in the WordPress WPAchievements plugin.

    Best regards,
    Belal

Thanks for the suggestions. I know that we had someone else request similar functionality, and we’ve taken it under advisement already. Not sure I agree about the sound part, though, but I’ll keep it in mind next time I talk to our team.

A small pop on the bottom-right corner would be great. the sound part is also great incase the user didn’t see the popup but it can be an on/off. Most websites will probably not hand out badges/achievements every second ?? so I guess it should be fine.

Oh I’ve suggested this before and a big +1 from me as well.
The ‘other’ Achievement plugin does this which I loved when I trialled it. It’s also great for immediate sharing which generally doesn’t happen when a user needs to go and collect it first from Credly and then share – too many steps and hoops, if you ask me.

    Hi,

Yes this would be awesome indeed.

Would there be any way to create this using some of the API and/or existing hooks and filters ?

If you have some ideas and can point us in the right direction, we could maybe try and come up with some custom code for that ?

    Thanks
    Greg

    @michael,

As part of the current API functions, is there a set of functions that could be use to generate the relevant HTML, which could then be rendered in a modal box (as part of the theme or custom CSS)

    Thanks !

What we have available can be found in better detail at https://badgeos.org/developers/.

We’re close to done with a product for this, but we’re putting finishing touches before we release.

Man, a pop-up would be interesting, because part of the pleasure of you gain a badge or trophy is the type of announcement, like the Achievements plugin. That plugin is not better than yours; But the way that it brings the information about the achievement this user wins is very good.

    Great plugin, BadgeOs.

    Congrats!

Is this feature included in the new 1.4 release?

kcurisjr, this will be a separate extension that you can install to your site. It’ll be released through https://badgeos.org, so that will be the best place to keep an eye on for when.

Its gonna cost money isn’t it…

I would suspect so, once released, but I don’t have final say on that.

I’m new to the plugin, which has everything I need except this soon to be released pop-up feature. How does this feature compare with the Auto Messages Add On? I’m trying to decide if the Auto Message add on will fulfill my needs or if I should wait for this feature to be released.

I am looking to have a popup box display to the user that they have completed a quest.

    Thanks for your time.

The Auto Messages Add On was built for large “milestones”, like 1000 points in a system that adds 10points/achievement. It wasn’t built for feedback on every single achievement earned, which is why this intended addon was developed in conjunction with some client work. The new one will be meant for frequent display, like completing quests, assuming a single quest isn’t a huge list of achievements of other types.

You’ll likely want the one intended for release here. I just can’t give any time frame because I don’t personally know and it’s not my decision. I can prod LearningTimes to remind them about, that’s about it.
