• I jumped the gun, modifying WordPress to my likings before realizing that my idea was a little more complex than I intended. I was hoping to set up individual pages that were interconnected by the links on the navigation bar for different topics that I could blog to.

My intention was not to blog to the home page but to blog to a seperate news page and upcoming events page. I also wanted to have a photo gallery.

Being new to this I don’t if anyone else has done this yet. I read about installing multiple blogs. In my mind it seems like I should be able to do that and link the navigation bar to the independent databases.

Could anyone point me to direction on this subject and maybe show me a page built the same way. Thanks in advance.

  • Yeah, it seems a bit over-compliacted as you started.
You can NOT blog to Pages.
All that stuff about having news and other categories should be managed through the Categories feature of WP.
What to sho and what not on the main index… > plugins. Always search for plugins! https://ryowebsite.com/?p=46

There are endless photogaller/photoblog applications already done to work with WP. Which one did you try?

Why do you need multiple blogs? Who else is blogging?

The one and only direction to be pointed to is the online manual, the Codex.

I do not wish to have multiple users just ways to view pertinate information on different pages. One page could store information about upcoming events. Another would have reviews of events that already past. Keeping the information seperate allows the user to have more interactivity and a way to pinpoint what information they are looking for.

I figured out that you can not blog to pages earlier today. I also found the category options. Is there a way in the ordering to put a page as “home” and the blog after. Than all I would need was one or two more pages to present specialized info for the viewer.

My Bad. I just saw a page that uses Categories to do the features explained.

I am curious about the same thing that indiepunk asked about.
This is my first website, so this is all very new to me.

I have separate pages with different kinds of info. I am an artist. On one page I have photography. On another I have paintings. Etc. I would like to be able to post freshly on each individual page. Is there a way I can set this up somehow?

    Please email me! ??
