    Hi, I have the :
    “You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.”

    message coming on the installation of 3.6.1 but I DO want to keep my old database. Please tell me how can I solve this problem ?

    I just try to reinstall wordpress after a complete cleanup : database cleaned and backup uploaded through phpmyadmin. The old version was 3.5 and I try to install the 3.6.1. ??

    You will need to either empty the database of all tables or use a different table prefix for the new install.

    I changed the approach : I just reinstalled the old version and updated through the interface. Thanks
