• I’m having multiple problems with my WordPress account out of nowhere. First, every other time I try to navigate somewhere on the dash, I get Google Chrome’s “Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to…” page. I also discovered that Jetpack was no longer working properly. Specifically the “sharing” feature wasn’t automatically publishing my posts on my Facebook account anymore. I tried to reconfigure the settings by deleting the old connection and now when I try to add a new one I get “Error code: -32301.” And the debugging center tells me that my site can not communicate properly with Jetpack.

I have tried deleting and re-installing all of Jetpack, which was a nightmare because for a long time I was getting another weird error whenever I tried that. I have also tried re-installing the latest version of WordPress. I tried all of the debugging center suggestions. I use WordPress’s Twenty Eleven Theme. Changing it to Twenty Twelve and deactivating my other plugins, which are Akismet, Contact Form Plugin, and WordPress SEO, did not help.

I’m afraid my account and blog are going to implode at this rate. What is going on?

I’ll do that. Any insight on why Google Chrome seems to hate the WordPress dash?

    Is your site on GoDaddy?

    No. I use Bluehost.

Do these connection errors only happen with JetPack?

No. They can happen anytime I’m using the WordPress dashboard, even when I go to my blog’s log in page.

Have you asked BlueHost about these problems?

On your end, I’d suggest deactivating all plugins by renaming the plugins folder – using FTP or Cpanel to access your site files. While they are off that way, switch to the default twentytwelve theme. See if that helps.

If not, try manually re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first!

    – Always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case.
