W3 Total Cache Selection Leads to Two Puzzling WordPress Messages
-
Does anyone know how to get rid of the following two messages?:
Make sure to export the media library and upload the wp-includes, theme files, custom files, files to the CDN to ensure proper operation.
AND…
The unsuccessful transfer queue has unresolved errors. Empty the queue to restore normal operation.
I received the above-listed messages after selecting some options, including using CloudFlare apart from my host provider, in the W3 Total Cache (W3TC) plugin. I had been looking to make my website, which has a lot of images, run as quickly as possible and began selecting options in W3TC I didn’t fully understand but that sounded like it would make my site run lightning quick.
After learning that I can use CloudFlare via my host provider, BlueHost, I cancelled my CloudFlare account and believe it had rerouted my files back to BlueHost. This is when I first received these two messages and others. I resolved the other problems, however, these two remain.
I don’t know how to get rid of these messages, but I think my switch from BlueHost to CloudFlare back to BlueHost is the cause of my website not looking the way I’d designed it. For example, I no longer see my home page slider and other slideshow interactive functionality. Now, I am no longer seeing the tabs underneath my product descriptions and featured images in my store product pages.
When I go to the unsuccessful transfer queue, I see three options (Upload queue; delete queue; and, purge queue) and a super long list of files in the “Local Path” table. At the end of the “Local Path” table are two options: Empty upload queue; and, Process CDN queue now. I do not want to destroy over five months of hard work by picking the wrong options.
When I try to export the media library, the process always fails within 1-2 seconds. The same things occurs when I try to upload the wp-includes, theme files and custom files. I just get the same message: Empty host. Does this mean I need to re-establish my connection with my host, since the files may not have gone back to BlueHost when I decided to drop CloudFlare and use it via BlueHost, which I didn’t know I could’ve done when I selected CloudFlare via W3TC? Do I need to do an FTP file transfer of all my files from my home computer to the BlueHost servers?
Thank you to anyone who can offer any assistance that will help me resolve these issues.
