Mailing List Database Table

Hi, I’m trying to find plugins that do two different things.

First, I want to have my users be able to email each other through the site, as well as be able to email groups of people, like “Parents, Alumni, South Team, North Team, Etc.” I need when people register for the website, they have to chose what mailing list group they want to be on.

Second, I want to display a table a table of my users with columns that display meta-information about them, like whether they can carpool of not. I’m currently using Buddypress, and that gives me a way to list the users in a directory, but it doesn’t let me show meta information without clicking on each user.
