Will Google get locked out due to not found errors?
-
I’ve got a lot of “not found” errors in Google webmaster tools (same as a 404 error). I have about 200 of these. I think this is from moving from Blogger to a self-hosted blog… they’re old categories or something I think.
Will those Not Found errors result in Google getting locked out while indexing due to Better WordPress Security’s 404 Detection?
If so, would it work to turn off the lockouts (or set above 200ish) so that I don’t lock Google out? Temporarily at least until Google realizes those pages don’t exist, and then adjust to the default settings later. I’m not a techie, so I’m open to better suggestions, but I might not be able to actually do them…
Thank you.
