Hello not sure if this is the right place to ask this question…

Could someone please help me understand what is the difference between Memory and Bandwidth in web hosting?

I understand what disk space or disk storage is but those two, not quite.

    Thank you!

  • Memory – Physical RAM on the server

Bandwidth – The amount of data that is transfered between your hosting server and the internet.

They are completely differnt things. ??

Thank you so much for your answer!

Ok. Could you please also tell me how this affect the sites performance?

    and

I have a hosting plan with “unlimited bandwidth” and “unlimited storage” but know for sure is not unlimited memory.

Does that mean that if many people access my sites at the same time it will be slower?

In general – the more memory and processor, the faster the site will go and the more users will be able to access it concurently. “Unlimited” bandwidth and storage will not help your sites speed.

Also be aware that every hosting company that says “unlimited” that I’ve ever seen always has limits of some kind. There’s no such thing as completely unlimited hosting – otherwise places like Google would be paying $9.95 a month for “unlimited” hosting for their networks instead of the millions that it costs them now. ??
