• Ok, i’m trying to do this for 2 days and I failed with every try …

I have a TV Series wordpress site and i want to have in the top menu a page/category called “TV Series”, under this I want a page called “Name of the Show” and one more under last one with “Seasons”.

I know it’s easy, but i want a plugin or a method when i post a new episode of the movie to select on what page to show it…

Sorry for my bad english, i don’t speach very well… If someone needs more details, post a reply here, thank!

  • If you can send me a link to your site that would help me understand what you are asking.

Are you saying that you want a drop down menu?

    My website is filmpe.net.

    I will explain again:

I want like a drop down menu. Let’s say I have a menu Like this:

TV Series -> Dexter ( I want, when someone click on Dexter to show every Season with his episodes. But if I post a new episode I want to Post it automatically in Season 8, let’s say.

You understand me? If you have a skype ID or something like that and you want to help me, I really appreciate that!

I think I understand you. If you are on your dashboard and you go to Posts -> Categories you can add all of the categories you will want to use, such as Season 8. Where you add a new category the first option is “name” the next is “slug” and the third is a drop down menu that has “parent.” If you have already added T.V. Series to your categories it will be in that drop down menu. So you can add “Dexter” as a new category with the parent category of “TV series.” Then you can add “Season 8” as a category and select “Dexter” as the parent category. If you go to Appearance -> Menus from your dashboard there are three options: pages, links, and categories. You can select any or all of these and add the to the menu. The menu is on the right and you can drag and drop the things you selected to appear in the order you want and also you can drop them in as a sub category. So the menu, which reads from top to bottom would look something like this:

    T.V. Series
    Dexter
    Season 8

When someone visits your site and hovers over TV Series they will see it’s a drop down menu and season 8 is an option.

When you add a new post and on the right hand side you select a category for the post, as usual, you select “Season 8.” Then this post will be the first post to appear when Season 8 is selected from the TV Series drop down menu.

Is that what you are trying to do?

Yes, it’s working ok, but when I Search Dexter, it’s showing nothing… You know where is the problem?:(

And one more problem…. When i post a new episode, appears on the TV Series Page, but also in the Movies Page…

It’s possible in the TV Series page to show only TV Series name?

Like, when I click on TV Series to show

    Dexter
    Prison Break

not every episode… and, when someone click on the TV Series name like Dexter to show the seasons, and after clicking on season to appears every episode…

    1. It’s possible that you need to include “Dexter” in the tags in order for it to appear when you search for it.

    2. It shouldn’t appear in the movies category unless you are selecting that category. Have you checked to make sure you aren’t accidentally clicking on “movies” as well?

On the page where you write and edit posts to the right hand side there is the area where you select which category each post will appear in. Make sure that you are selecting the right categories and that you aren’t defaulting to movies (or which ever) as well.

I would look into the tags you are using to make sure that each post is searchable. This article might help:
