    Hi,

I am trying to adjust the calendar to match our black theme.
I don’t know CSS but have looked through the ‘Calendar Options’ code and managed to change background colour to white, changed weekend dates to black (instead of red) and a few other adjustments.

The problem I have is that whilst I would prefer to keep the event hover option I would really like the event text on the day with date table to be black rather than gold so it stands out more for our pupils’ parents. I would also like to remove the dotted underline.

I’ve tried looking at the ‘inspect Element’ to find it but it looks so different to the code in ‘Calendar Options’

This is the link to the test page:

    Can you help please.
    Thanks

    Stewart

  • Have you tried The Events Calendar Category Colors plugin. There are options to set the text to any color you want.

    Hi Andy,

Many thanks for replying. I installed the plugin but when I look at it in the ‘installed plugins’ page on my WP-Admin it says at the top the following:

“Uh Oh! For some reason WordPress could not create an events page for you (or you just deleted it). Not to worry though, all you have to do is create an empty page, name it whatever you want, and select it as your events page in your settings page. Sorry for the extra step! If you know what you are doing, you may have done this on purpose, if so ignore this message”

How do i get it to link with the potions page of the-events-calendar please?

    Thanks,

    Stewart

Sorry – meant the ‘options’ page of the calendar

I’ve never heard of an error like this in either The Events Calendar plugin or in WordPress. Perhaps if you could share an image of it.

    Hi Andy,

Apologies for the confusion I actually don’t think that message is related to the plugin. Being a new user of WordPress and especially new to ‘plugins’I can’t seem to see how to use The-Events-Calendar category colour’plugin. I have it installed and activated but do I need to add something somewhere else please?

    Many thanks,

    Stewart

You need The Events Calendar plugin too.

    Hi Andy,

Yes, already have it installed, activated and on the website. I had already managed to change the ‘options’ so that the table had white background and also managed to change the weekend dates from red to black. My problem is that the text against the category colours within the calendar is gold and doesn’t show up well – black would be better but I’m told that to change that would mean trawling through the 30+ style sheets. I wouldn’t know where to start which is where, hopefully, your new category colouring plugin will help but I can’t yet see any way in the ‘manage category’ – ‘Edit’ page to change the text colour – only the background colour is editable.

    Thanks again,

    Stewart

In the ‘Category Colors’ settings tab you can set the font color. If you look at the wiki for the Category Colors plugin you can also set the color to something other than the default choices.

Sorry Andy – still confused. Not sure what wiki is? I can’t see an option to change the text colour. Here’s a couple of links so hopefully you can see:

You need to take screenshots and post

Wiki is for Category Colors plugin. You can find it in FAQ section of WP.org repo.

    Hi Andy,

How do I attach a screen print here? Or should I direct mail it to you?

    Thanks,

    Stewart

    Stewart,

From the screenshots you are not using The Events Calendar plugin. You should take a closer look at the plugins you’ve installed and refer the the support forums there.

That, or deactivate the other calendar plugin and use The Events Calendar.
