Theme not showing up in Manage Themes

  • I have uploaded a new theme via ftp into
    wp-content/themes

    But when I go to the manage themes section it is not showing up.
    I can see twenty twelve and another theme that I uploaded a while ago. But this theme is not listed in the wp-content/themes folder. In there are 6 other themes I have used over the years but there is no sign of the one theme I can see in my manage themes page.

    All a bit strange.
    Any ideas where the manage themes page is pulling it’s files from if it isn’t wp-content/themes. Strange when it has obviously pulled files from there in the past.

    Any suggestions?
    I am using WordPress 3.6.1

    I just used flezilla remote file search to search for the name of the one theme I can see in Manage themes and it did not find anything!

    Any ideas gratefully received!

    Try re-uploading the theme.

    OK done that but it still doesn’t show up in my manage themes section in wordpress.

    If it were just the one theme that was not showing up that would be strange but because it is all of the themes in wp-content/themes I am convinced wordpress must be looking elsewhere for the theme files.
    Especially as the one theme I can see in mange themes does not appear in wp-content/themes.

    Any other ideas?

    Looks like there’s a problem with this theme. I’m sorry but as this is a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not support commercial products here.

    OK will do – but can you explain why none of the other themes are showing up in manage themes either? Including twentyeleven?

    Is the default 2013 theme visible?

    I just tried uploading it via wordpress not ftp and it is now installed and working but I can’t find the installed files via Filezilla – all very odd.
    Should I worry that I don’t know where they are and try and figure it out?
