    Hi,

The latest update broke the layout of the website.

Then I reverted to the parent theme but the customisations in the CSS are also lost which are part of the theme options.

  • Not sure what has happened, but did you use a Child Theme?

As 3.0.10 has just been released, then was expecting some teething problems. But I did receive a beta copy earlier this week so can assure you that this has been thoroughly tested.

Take a deep breath and try to break down what is actually broken. At worse, you will be able to revert to 3.0.9.

I hope you have taken backups before updating…

I pretty much had the same problem. The only thing that displays on homepage is the footer content… I am also using a child theme. Do you think I need to update that as well?

Try activating the customizr theme rather than customizr-child theme and see if anything changes. This will bypass the child theme altogether and if it works, then there’s a problem with the child theme.

Nic published this with the release:
Important note for Child Theme users
The templates and the hook structure have been modified in this version. Check the template files (index.php, header.php, footer.php, comments.php) to adapt your child theme if needed.

Yes I also use a child theme and I understand that there is an issue with the child theme,
1)So we need to download these files from the parent theme and upload it to the child themes?
2)Even when I reverted to the parent, the custom css which is there and should work in the parent theme as well is not working. Why?

Thank you rdellconsulting for the support and help.

I updated to 3.0.10 — site broke. I restored to 3.0.9 from a ValtPress backup made last night. Seeing errors throughout the site (above menu bar) eg:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/seacol12/musicinsideout.org/louis/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/class-fire-debug.php on line 820

I disabled the child theme. Activated Customizr 3.0.9 — still seeing errors, but more troubling, my login page has disappeared, now only seeing:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/seacol12/musicinsideout.org/louis/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/class-fire-debug.php on line 820

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/seacol12/musicinsideout.org/louis/wp-content/themes/customizr/inc/class-fire-debug.php:820) in /home/seacol12/musicinsideout.org/louis/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 875

    SITE ADDRESS: https://www.musicinsideout.org/louis/

Where can I see the update log? Just about to send a site live so I can do without any problems. Thanks

    @rdellconsulting – The template files (index.php, header.php, footer.php, comments.php) did have some modifications… Thanks for your help.

@seancollins It looks like you have your own php files in the child theme, which are expecting different parameters from the parent theme. Remove all php files from your child theme and see if that fixes things. Then go back and add your modifications one by one — but to new copies of php files.

@sudeep: same advice applies to your situation too, I think.

@sudeep : do you still have problems after update?

@seancollins : your website looks fine, how did you fix it? Your feedback would be useful!

@jpangburn : still an issue for you?

@rdellconsulting : thanks for the very precise support, as usual!

    Bests regards

I opted to stay with 3.0.10 & lose the template files for the child theme. Thanks for the help.

@jpangburn : ok, thanks for your feedback

I had similar update issues with the theme except mine effected the sidebar widgets. The only way I can switch between the left and right sidebar layouts is to choose the default template as my page attribute which throws off the layout look it had before. Too bad because this is what I loved about this theme. Very customized looking. Any idea if this can be fixed to go back to the way it looked before?

What are the changes made in this version?
