  • Hi, thanks ??

In order to help you, I need to know two things:

    1. Have you followed the walkthrough in the FAQ?
    2. Have you been able to determine whether this is caused by a conflict with a theme or plugin?

    Hi
Yes it works fine as the main menu.
I had it as a custom menu in the sidebar.
If so, it attempts to load the entire post
    in the sidebar.

    Hi Danny,

can you be more specific, so that I can reproduce your problem?

On my own blog, I have the custom menu in the sidebar and I don’t experience this problem. I’d like to kindly ask you to provide me with a small example: One menu item with one post, in a custom menu in the sidebar with the Twenty-Eleven Theme and no other plugins.

I hope with that information, I can fix the problem you are having.

    Kind regards,
    Diana

    Hi
I disabled all plugins and viewed… same result. must be a conflict with the woo headlines theme
you can see it here –
    https://mygraphicslibrary.com/category/videos/gimp/
the widget is second one titled Gimp
Tried it on another site – bit more luck – but it will only show 5 entries – no matter what I have in Order by or Order
    (there are ten entries )
    you can see it here
    https://wpeasymobile.com/category/html-builder-videos/
    last widget titled CPCM
    cheers
    Danny

    Hi Danny,

so what you’re saying is that the “woo headlines” theme is causing the conflict for the first site. If the hook is somehow also used or overridden by the theme, this can indeed cause problems. I’m willing to look into it later (don’t have much time this week) but I’m not sure if there’s anything I can do to solve it.

EDIT: The “woo headlines” theme does seem to manipulate the menu as well. So the conflict lies there, my plugin’s changes to the menu are discarded by or conflict with the theme, probably. I’ll look into it later to verify this.

As for the second link, note that it is not “order” or “order by” that determines the number of posts in the menu, but the “number of posts” field.

    Kind regards,
    Diana

    Hi Danny,

because the “woo headlines” theme isn’t free, I will not be testing against it. Therefore, I cannot troubleshoot conflicts with the theme. Can you report this to the theme developers and ask them to contact me if necessary?

I hope that the issues with ordering are resolved, at least. I hope you’ll let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Diana

    Hi Diana,
thank you for taking the time to respond.I decided to use another theme and have the plugin working without issues.
Congrats on a useful plugin ??
