Duplicate Post and Jetpack/Publicize

    We use the Duplicate Post plug in to create drafts for our posts in many instances.

    We’d also like to use Jetpack/Publicize to send our posts to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, but when using Duplicate Post that doesn’t always work, and maybe you can help us with some setting that we can change.

    Posts duplicated from already published posts are not sent to Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook by Publicize.

    However, posts duplicated from unpublished drafts (vs. published posts) are sent by Publicize.

    Is there a setting in Duplicate Post that we could change so that all posts were sent by Publicize. Probably so that Publicize thinks every post is brand new?

    This is what the Publicize developers wrote to me. It might help.

    “[Duplicate Post] copies the Post Meta information to the new post. Publicize saves whether orn ot a post has been Publicized in the post meta, and when a post is published, it verifies the status first in the meta, to make sure that a post doesn’t end up being Publicized twice. You might want to suggest to the Duplicate Posts plugin author that they could include a check for the Publicize post meta data, and then ask the user if they want to re-Publicize that post, or something along those lines.”

    there is already this thread dealing with the issue, there you can find a posible workaround that seems to fix the problem until next version comes out. Can you try and give me a feedback about that?

    Adding “_wpas_done_all” to the “Do not copy these fields” line on the Duplicate Post Options page solved the problem of duplications of published posts not being sent to Facebook, Twitter & Tumblr by Publicize.

    I don’t have a Duplicate Post Options page? My Post Duplicator settings only allow me to change the Status, Date, and Offset Date. Is there a way I can work around this issue without going into code? Thanks!
