Option to select who can create public groups?

  • There is an option in your setting page which allows u to select who can create top level groups.

    I would like to be able to select who can create “public groups”, to select to “nobody”

    and for private groups, I would like to select specific “user role”, which I already mentioned before in the support, but unfortunately it’s not in this plugins plan…

    any help?

    Hi 3×7 –

    That’s a great idea for a BuddyPress feature or for another plugin, but it wouldn’t make sense to bolt it onto this one. Basically, anything that doesn’t have something to do with putting groups within other groups doesn’t fit with this plugin. ??

    It sounds like you want something that provides broad control over who can create groups and now what kind of groups. Have you asked in the BuddyPress forums whether any plugins like that exist?

    Thank you for your reply.

    Basically I’m trying to achieve that members cannot mess up with the hierarchy that I set up. Those are PUBLIC groups.

    Members should be able to create only lowest level PRIVATE groups in the hierarchy and to disable them to create subgroups of their groups.

    However, that’s why I thought this would be the right place to discuss my issue… I will try on BP forums also..
