Variations on variations

  • Hi
    I have been working with variations successfully on my photography site, I am about to add another variation that will open up an additional 2 more variations

    This is my current setup

    Variation 1 – type of medium

    – printed
    – rolled canvas
    – stretched canvas

    Variation 2 Size

    – 8×10
    – 20×12
    – etc..

    What I want to do is add in Variation 1 “Framed prints”

    but this means I will have to add another 2 variations “Matt color” and the “frame color”
    If I add these variations they are displayed even if the user chooses a “stretched canvas” which adds confusion, like “I can change the frame color on a canvas why would i do that”

    Is it possible for Woocommerce to open up more variations depending on the choice of the parent variation ?

    best case they choose framed prints and matt color and frame color become visable or ungreyed out…

    My other solution is just add additional products in a categories only for framed prints although I wanted to make things simple and streamlined for user.

    All ok i sorted this myself

    I was overthinking this before actually attempting

    if i dont add a frame color to the non framed prints the drop box is there but you cant select

    great just what I was after
