    Try:

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try deactivating via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. If applicible, also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder. The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – To rule out any theme-specific issue, try switching to the unedited default theme for a moment using the WP dashboard. If you don’t have access to your admin area, you can switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.
resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive). Read “How to deactivate all plugins when you can’t log in to wp-admin” if you need help.
    – If the above troubleshooting steps fail to resolve the issue, try manually re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Read the Manual Update directions first!

    Thanks Tara.

I have deleted the 3 plugins (i installed today ) in my fftp folder on godaddy, but that didn’t make a difference as I still can’t access the admin panel, and now it shows some errors when i type in mindxcel.com/wp-admin ??

could you kindly check that link for me and let me know what is wrong.

i don’t know how to do the uploading steps and am a bit worried about it in case i make a mistake. do i need to get an expert?

I have done the theme and made it old as well as the plugin mu, but the other things are too confusing.

    What to do?

    What is the site URL?

I see Maxima theme with a whole lot of plugins on your site. You need to get those all off – by changing the name on those folders again – and leave them that way until this gets sorted out.

yes, its the Maxima theme and I just had a look at the events page. the wording has changed since the problem, so maybe it’s the …share this page by clicking one of the buttons below Tweet.. plugin that caused it.

I am not a web professional, so when you say I need to get those all off, which folders do I need to change and what do i need to do with them? do you mean mu-plugin make it old again and theme, make it old?

is there not another way i can get into the system and change it from there?

Using FTP or Cpanel, you should rename the plugins folder to:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

and rename your themes folder to force WP to use the default theme:

    wp-content
          themes
              Maxima.HOLD
              twentythirteen

Make sure twentythirteen or twentytwelve is in that folder.

ok, i can do that, and then? will it change my site right now?

It should change it – if it doesn’t, you have a problem with FTP or your server and need to talk to your hosting company.
