newly uploaded theme not showing on theme choices

    I just uploaded a new theme (f3Green) and successfully unzipped the files and created a new folder in the wp-content/themes directory but the new theme is not showing up in the list of theme choices on my WP dashboard.

    Any ideas how to fix this??

  • Make sure that the theme you uploaded doesn’t have one too many layers of folders in it. If you check where you put it, you should see:

    ../wp-content/themes/YourNewTheme/ many files, include style.css

    Sometimes, when you unzip a new theme before uploading it, the unzipper creates an extra directory and you end up with:
    ../wp-content/themes/YourNewTheme/YourNewTheme/ files…

    Which is no good.

    Other potential issue is if you grabbed a very very old “template” file from before WP 1.5.

    hmm, it might have been the second thing. I downloaded it from the developer’s site, so I decided to delete that one and download it again from the WRC themeviewer. The new one works, so maybe it was an updated version.
