• Hi, I downloaded a template a couple of years ago and only now getting ready to have someone install it. The website help I am hiring has asked “I’m looking for version numbers and some tech info.” but I have no idea where to find this information. Could someone please let me know? Much thanks,
    Dan

  • Do you mean the theme for the website?

    In that case you can check it
    – under appearance/themes on your dashboard if you can log in to your site or
    – on this website.

    WordPress themes have those infos usually in style.css;

    if your ‘template’ does not have a style.css with that info, it is likely not a WordPress theme.

    an experienced web developer would probably not need to ask this kind of question…

    If it’s not yet uploaded to wordpress you can find the info by taking your theme and unzipping it on your desktop. Then click into the theme folder and open the “style.css” file with a text editor (i.e. notepad, textmate, textedit, etc…). You’ll find the info you’re looking for on top.
