Thumbnails not showing when posting to facebook, linkedin, etc

When I try to share a post from my wedding bells blog on facebook or linkedin, the thumbnail (and title on linkedIn) doesn’t appear in the post window. I’m wondering if I need to add something to the header or functions file? Please advice
