GP Library – Install???

This page explains how to install and load various php extensions under windows: https://php.net/manual/en/install.windows.extensions.php if I understand it correctly, you just need to make sure the extention file is in the right directory and php will find it from there.

Hello Mr. Null,
I read all over that page prior to posting. It mentioned a php.ini file – I could not find it. It also discusses the extensions directory – and I found an php ext directory and the .dll file is in the directory. Is there a way to check that it is functional? I am trying to rule out that the GD Library is in place and functional – and I can then go back to the theme support and say – well – that isn’t it.

You can see all the extentions that PHP is loading by creating a php file on the server with only the following code
<?php phpinfo();

This should also list the location of the php.ini file that php is loading from.

Ok – I love that idea. How does run a php file? Sorry – I am new to this.

create a file in the root directory of the webserver, call it anything, I usually call it “phpinfo.php” then use a text editor to open the file and add the code mentioned above. then access the file in you browser like: https://my.website.com/phpinfo.php

Ok – I was able to figure out how to run that command. It let me find the php.ini file. I have pasted part of the ini file that I think tells me that the GD Library is being loaded? Please find the PHP Info result below that. I have a feeling from what I see – and I am not a PHP person – the GD Library is running? HELP!

I’m a bit unfamiliar with Windows servers, but the next most probable issue with creating the thumbnails is that the theme is unable to create the thumbnail files. This usually occurs because of permissions issues with the various WordPress folders.
