Page Password Protection Disabled With Current Theme

  • I am using a commercial theme Smarald for my site:
    https://beta2.areaenvironments.com/
    I have password protected the “Client Login” page
    https://beta2.areaenvironments.com/purchase/login/
    Password protection works perfectly when I use Twenty Thirteen theme but when I switch to my preferred theme Smarald, password protection does not work. When I enter password using Smarald I get this message: Error 404 – Not Found Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.
    I have deactivated all plugins and gone through one by one. It is not plugins. I can’t change themes for various reasons, so I am wondering how do I get password protection to work with preferred theme? The theme’s support is offline until end of September so no help from them.
