• Hello,

I have a child theme based on 2012 v1.1 that uses the Footer Widgets, and they seem to have disappeared in the v1.2, should they be there anyway or not (just to know if the problem comes from my code).

    Thanks
    V.

  • Are you speaking of the Front Page Widget Areas? Twenty Twelve does not have footer widgets unless you have added them through your Child Theme. In any case, I did not have any trouble with any of my own widgets (including my added footer widgets) after updating.

Here is a link with some info about changes in v1.2:

@varkhan: a silly question, but are you sure you’re using the child theme? What you describe would happen if for some reason you weren’t.

@gary : yes, I’m using a child theme, but I didn’t design it (a designer that doesn’t work in my firm anymore did ^^) and I’m quite new to WP

@leejosepho : yes, Front Page Widgets, so I think it may exactly be that – in short, my question should have better been “are there Front Page Widgets in 2012 ??

Thanks guys, now I know I must dig into the code itself to see what’s been added in (I guess) the footer
