Hide author page from search results

  • My new site starts to show up in Google searches but there is some author page as first link. How could I hide/disable it from search results?
    The page it refers is mysite/author/myusername and it seems to be empty page.

  • Create a robots.txt file, or use the Yoast SEO plugin to set “nocrawl,noindex” that specific page(s)

    Also, register your site with Google Webmaster Tools and submit a sitemap, set crawl parameters, etc etc. (same with Bing Webmaster Tools)

    Thanks, I installed Yoast SEO and got to set noindex for pages and post types I don’t want to show in search results, but I still have not found a way to disable author page. I think it comes under Users, but there is no Yoast panel in that page, to set noindex.
