widgets can no longer be accessed or modified

I am using a design crumbs template and it is recommended to use this plugin. When I activate the plugin I am no longer able to see or modify the WP Email Capture widget or widgets from other plugins. I have a deadline to get the site up and running so your prompt help would be much appreciated!
