Cookies for comments is supposed to be good as well.

like Yogi said, akismet is the best one. You need a key from there site, its simple to set up and works a charm

Thanks for the input guys but i forgot to mention that i had akismet too with the other plugin and the spam still picked up since the upgrade to 3.6
