    I’m new to the use of WordPress. (May years ago I did set up a multi-page website using html coding and creating my own pages, then uploading via an FTP program. I was hoping to use a WordPress template to save me a lot of time.)

    I do not … not … want a blog at this time, though I will want it added later (and will, also, want a small shop added later). I simply want a website where I can share what I’ve learnred (with pictures and texts) about creating a small homestead out of forestry.

    My account is hosted by BlueHost and can be viewed at https://motdaugrnds.com I have been trying to find a free theme template that was simple enough for me. I’ve tried several and have become confused by them all. (The last one activated was called “Childlessly Simple” and I did manage to get one of my home-made pictures at the top; however, it is not even all the way across the top but leaves so much unused space on the sides.) Now all I want is to get rid of this template; yet I find no way to do so. Can anyone help me get rid of that template so I can revert back to using my FTP program and home-made pages?

  • Slightly confused, but if I understand you want to delete the wordpress installation completely and go back to the static html pages that you were using before.

    If you have ftp access then connect to the server and delete all of the wordpress files, and put your old files back in their place.

    Sorry, I apparently did not make myself clear.

    No, I do not want to get rid of WordPress as I think it is a wonderful program that might be useful to me when I get around to creating a blog and a store.

    I did want to get rid of the template(s) that I had activated on my account. I say “did” because I found some great information in this forum that helped me do that already. I was able to delete all the themes I had previously activated and I was, also, able to delete the theme that was on my account. (I did all this without getting rid of my WordPress program, which I value and want to keep. I will be needing to learn more about it and how I can best use it; and I will do that before long.)

    At this time all I have on my account is a white page; so I will be using “FileZilla” (my FTP program) to upload all the files and pictures I have already created using Note Tab Light.
