How do I change the front page header picture?

Hi all,
WordPress is truly tremendous, and with Podpress added it’s one of the best things out there for podcasters, in my opinion. The one thing I’m having a hard time doing is figuring out how to change the header picture on the front page (known as “banner.jpg,” I believe). Does anyone know if there is a plugin, easy to install and use, which would allow me to upload a picture of my choice and which would automatically resize the picture to fit the height and width of the header? I’ve run a number of searches here, but everything seems to be referring to pictures in posts rather than on the pages themselves. Any suggestions here for a WordPress newbie would be most appreciated!
