Categories on product page (remove or select which to show)

Hi there
On each product page, there is a list of categories that the item is associated with (under the “Add to cart” button).
If possible, I would like to either:
1) Remove this altogether
2) Be able to exclude certain categories from showing there.Can anyone help me with this?
