Add a New Field to the Registration Form

Hi,

I recently was brought on to maintain a wordpress site. The way the registration form works is not totally straight forward. Clicking “Register” brings you to a page with several links. Going to one of the links then brings you to a page with a registration form that has several fields. I want to add the “Phone Number” field to this form.

So far I’ve tried using the plugins “Extra User Details” and “Register Plus Redux”, neither of which have worked at all. Does anyone know what’s going on?
