updated to 3.6 and spam start flooding

  • I am running 3.6 and getting no more spam than usual. I am getting many many more hits from spammers. One blog is getting 5,000 spam attempts per day and one blog is getting as many login attempts.

    Are you running bbPress? Perhaps something changed with bbPress.

    I’ve had the same problem since updating to 3.6. The plugin had done an excellent job at stopping all spam user registration up until then. Nothing else has changed on my site. I am using WooCommerce; perhaps that has something to do with it? [Scratching head.]

    I’ve had the same problem – I’m using spam free wordpress and wasn’t having any problems until I upgraded.
