Links/plugins not working on Xampp local site

  • Good day,

    I wonder if anyone could help me? Im very new to wordpress and website programming but I recently managed to sucessfully create a loca version of my wordpress website on Xampp so I could learn how to tweak and manage it without messing up the live site. I have imported the the whole public_html file and the database and have changed the url in the wp_options etc. I can access the admin backend. But here is my problem. When I click view site on the admin control panel I get taken to my home page but
    1) None of the pictures for my categories are showing up
    2) My sliders dont slide and
    3) When I click on any of the categories or buttons to take me to another page I get the message “Object not found” Error 404.

    Can someone help?

  • I haven’t used XAMPP, but it sounds like Apache isn’t running.

    Hi there Pali,

    Thanks for the reply. I have checked and appears that Apache is running but still I am getting the same problem. If I enter the addresses manually the webpages come up but any button I press to perform a test function etc I jsut get a No object found response. So frustrating! I have installed the website using duplicator and everything seems to be fine:(
