Replacing old site with completely new theme and content

I have been designing a wordpress site on my local computer that I now need to publish. There is an existing WP site at the url which I need to publish to, and I intend to replace all content as well as the theme.

My questions is: what is the easiest way to do this?

I do have the login information for the current site I am replacing.
