There has been some discussion about this issue over on the Make WordPress UI group…

JetPack is currently breaking the consistency of the WordPress admin user interface by scrolling the left admin navigation menu when the JetPack page scrolls. JetPack is the only page that does this in the WP admin UI. Apparently it is so you can show a green arrow pointing to JetPack as the active menu item and this is because your green graphic at the top of the page intersects what should be a white arrow.

Is it possible to redraw your green header graphic at the top of the JetPack admin page so that it doesn’t intersect the menu and you allow the admin menu to be fixed as it is in the rest of the admin interface?

Even though it may seem cool to code in these exceptions to the WP user interface, it has the cumulative effect of making WP feel clunky and inconsistent.

If we want to have a slick WP interface at some point, we will need to exercise some UI discipline. Please let me know who would be the right person to talk to about this.

    Thanks!
