Unable to Install

When I try to install v1.1 (what I was using) or v1.2 (what I was trying to update to), I get the following:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin install failed.
Any ideas? I was trying to update to see if it would fix the stream, which wasn’t showing anything but the fail whale message (twitter wasn’t showing the whale).
After trying to update to v1.2 the widget no longer is listed and I can’t get a past version of it installed. I’ve tested other plugins and can successfully install and active them.
