    Guy’s and Gals,

I have just built a new site for worldwide events and have got pretty much everything doing what I want it to do, however I am getting very flustered by the event submission form restrictions.

I have “Allow anonymous event submissions” turned on because when I turn it off the form disappears altogether, I have removed all of the permissions from every user except the admin, yet the form is still publishing the event without moderation or approval ???

I am no guru when it comes to this kind of stuff and this is doing my head in, as the site has only been up and running for around 12 hours and I have already received several submissions that really need to be tidied up or tossed out altogether.

Any and all help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Kindest regards
    Bam Bam

hi, have you tried to unchecked or unticked Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities > publish_events ?

    Angelo,

As I stated in the opening post, I have unchecked everything, for Editor, Author, Contributor and Subscriber, only Administrator has any permissions to do anything.

seems to be working? since am getting this message

You have successfully submitted your event, which will be published pending approval.

noticed “which will be published pending approval” ?

    Angelo,

The test event you just added published by itself, without moderation.

Just trying something I found in another thread at the moment, I suspect that everything is being published because I had Guest Default User set to my admin Username

Got another problem now as well, I turned on the drop down locations picker to see what it looked like and now it won’t go away after turning it off.

Bit of a problem when someone submitting an event can’t choose their location.

    Angelo,

I have sorted out the events needing approval problem, but I desperately need to resolve the drop down menu problem.

I have added a note to the page it’s on asking that no one submit an event until it’s fixed, so I’m just hoping they play nice.

Once again your assistance is greatly appreciated

basically, you already turn it off at Events > Settings > General > General Options > Use dropdown for locations? =No and did you check your user capabilities edit_locations ?
