• Hello all,

I have a problem with a website that will not let me login to the dashboard…

    A brief history:
    Running wp 3.5.2
    Canvas from Woothemes
    Site was working fine

A few days ago the error could not connect error establishing database connection came up
Checked wp-config and everything was ok

Went into phpMyAdmin and found the wp-options table was corrupt.
Performed a table repair and website is back online.

Went to log in to dashboard. After entering username and password, I got the “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” page.
If I go to the website itself it shows that I am logged into WordPress as it gives me the option under the website name to click onto Dashboard. But when I click on it I get the “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” error.

I have checked everything I could think of (I am still a newbie). I even set the site up on another server and get the same error with a fresh WordPress install.

    Things I have checked:
wp-config is ok. database prefixes are correct.
Did a repair on the entire database.
Fresh WordPress install on different server.
Changed name of plugins folder to plugins.hold

I can see the site and everything is working correctly.

I have a feeling it has to do with database permissions but am unsure how to fix this, if that is the case.

This is a media site that is to be updated daily but has been not been for a few days and I really need to try and get this working.

Any ideas or direction would be hugely appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris

  • maybe your role for a user not as a Admin. If you have many user in your blog then check login using other id which have all access permission and change your role as admin.

I created a new user with full admin privileges a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;s:1:”1″;} and I am still unable to access the Dashboard.

I am logged into WordPress but when I click on any of the links at the top of the page (such as dashboard, edit profile, about WordPress), I am shown the “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” error and the url reads: https://domain.com/wp-admin/profile.php.

I am at a loss on this problem. It seems to be a database error with permissions but I am unsure on that or how to fix it if it is the problem.

Have switched permissions to a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;}, but still no progress logging into dashboard…

Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing me not to be able to login to the dashboard and any ideas on how to fix this problem?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Have you tried contacting your host to make sure php is up-to-date and your php.ini file is configured correctly?

Also it might be worth it to go through the usual steps of checking the theme and each plugin.
