    Hey Jen,
To select multiple images, hold [Ctrl] key ([Command] key for mac) and click the images you want to add.

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

But that wasn’t the issue. I did select multiple images, but when I clicked “add images” (or whatever the button said), I’d get back to the “Add Images to Your Gallery” page and it would still have the “Select Images” button and now images apparently selected. If I hit the “Add to Gallery” button it confirmed there were no images selected. That problem also started happening with single image additions after successfully one photo.

I’m having some other issues with NextGen Gallery, so am in the process of re-installing and troubleshooting the whole setup. Once I do that, if I’m still having issues with adding multiple images, I’ll post a followup message … and hopefully one that is more clear than the convoluted mess above:-)

    Jeneen-

I think you are taking a smart step in the right direction. As developers we see this all the time with WP websites. And NGG is not the easiest of plugins on our WP systems.

However, due to the popularity of this plugin, we see that people really need/want/like it. So after you have cleaned everything up a bit, and perhaps deleted and re-installed our plugin (Latest version in the directory), if you are still having the issue, consider letting us take a look.

WordPress is a very large universe, so it may be another pluign, or the theme causing an issue. We want to try to make this plugin work for everyone that is using the new WP.

    So keep us posted.

I am having the exact same issue. This is a new site. I just now installed NextGen, and then this plugin. All I can get it to accept is a single image. Not multiple selections. And after it has accepted a single image. thats it. I can’t add another image to that gallery from the media library.

My theme is from Genesis, it is Executive. BTW if that makes any difference.

FYI, in case anyone else pops up with this problem. I’m still confirming I’ve resolved this issue, but the problem with adding multiple images through this plugin seems (I think) to have been caused by large file sizes. My client had provided a number of images that I uploaded without looking at the file size… when added as a group it failed, as well as I think adding the larger of the single images. When I reduced the file sizes, everything worked well:-)

Yes Yes Yes Jeenen…that makes perfect sense.

Many people will upload images that they have take with HD capabilities, like those take with a smartphone. the average iPhone image is about 1.5MB.

Many of the hosting plans out there will have an automatically set limit on the File Size Upload limit of 2MB.

this can be found by simply going to the Add New section of the Media Library.

Please read the “Imaging Tips” section on the plugin page at JEM:

    https://jaggededgemedia.com/plugins/nextgen-gallery-media-library-addon/

This is the #1 culprit for slow loading websites, and media malfunctions today. The rule of thumb is to scale down all images to be NO LARGER than the largest size of the image to be used on the front end. If your theme is only 940px wide, then you have no need for an image that is 2500+px wide.

I have learned about all this by working on a National Modeling agency website. We were able to drop the server load by 70%, after we resized all the images and deleted unnecessary sizes.

If your Upload limit is only 2MB, then you will definitely want to ask to have that changed, if you don’t know how to yourself, and watch the image sizes.

I am using small files. Sometimes it accepts them. Sometimes not. Here is the buggy thing. If I make the mistake of not selecting the gallery before selecting the image, then the plug in responds that I need to select the gallery. Fine. So I do. And then I cannot select an image, not one, not many. I have to refresh the page and start over. Thanks

And now refreshing the page is not correcting the issue. There is something very quirky with this plugin. Until next release I will disable and not bother. Thanks.

Well there is definitely something strange going on. However, it is likely something to do with your site or theme, or other plugins.

The only reason I say that is because out of 2500+ downloads, you can see the support issues we have had submitted. So we typically find that it is some sort of conflict.

As far as the next release, we will not be able to address an issue, if we don’t know what that issue is. I can suggest another option that we provide. If you would like to allow us to take a look at your site from the backend to see if we can discover the issue, then it would help tremendously. And if we can do that, then we may be able to release a patch, otherwise we can at least list it as a known conflict.

We can’t always control how other plugins interact with the WP system. but we do want to enable this to be as versatile as possible.

So if you are interested in that option, let me know.

    Johnny
