Solution: No permission to access users.php
-
Hi,
I solved it and wanted to just let you know that these forums are great and summarize all the possible solutions for my problem:
After updating my wordpress, I got this error when I tried to bulk delete users or when I try to change user roles (Wangguard plugin)
Forbidden You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/users.php on this server.
Things I have tried and didn’t work:
Checking all posts on this forum and following the directions given there, among these the following things:
– Deactivated all plugins and changed to standard theme
– Force-database update again by setting the former database version in wp-admin/options.php
– Changed users.php to 777
– Re-downloading the most recent WordPress version and overwriting my install
– Repairing Database with WP-DBManager
– Setting up another admin user and trying with that oneWhat did work:
– deleting .htaccessI have no clue why it all of a sudden posed a problem but deleting it solved it. Will rebuild it now.
Just thought that this post might help some people and wanted to put my hour of searching and trying on these forums here to some useful output ??
Best
Sebastian
