Video.js wont play with Internet Explorer 10

as you can see, when visiting my blog ( https://vine-videos.com/ ) with IE 10, its not possible to view the videos with the video.js settings, unless i switch back to strobe media playback

When playing HTML5 videos, IE is really picky about MIME types. Unlike most browsers, it does not take your word for it. You can see in your page’s source code that the plugin identifies the file as type video/mp4, which other browsers are willing to believe. IE checks the MIME type to make really sure. Your server is identifying MP4 files as application/octet-stream instead of video/mp4. You’ll need to configure your server to identify MP4 files as video/mp4. There are a lot of different ways to do that depending on what kind of server you have. i just added the following code to my htaccess file:

AddType video/ogg .ogv
AddType video/mp4 .mp4
AddType video/mp4 .m4v
AddType video/webm .webm

Didn’t do any difference tho!. is there any other way to make this work without messing around with the server configs? any plugin?

Your server is still sending the MP4 video as application/octet-stream so the .htaccess file isn’t configured properly.

You can also do this through cPanel if you have it. Down at the bottom in the “Advanced” section there’s a “MIME Types” button.

Kyle, would you mind taking a look at https://beta.wondergrovekids.com? I am having the same issue. CloudFront is serving the video/mp4 header though.

All I see in the console is Video Error, [object Object]

phattrance, I think you just need to restart the web service for that to take effect. ??
