Column-matic columns not aligning

I have a full-width page with 1 small paragraph at the top. I want to put the rest of the page content into 3 columns. Each column will have a headline, picture and text. I am using column-matic to set the columns and everything is OK except that the left column is higher on the page than the center and right columns (which are aligned, slightly lower than the left column).
