    Rebecca,

By “cut off” do you mean the data isn’t saved…or it just isn’t visible?

A text field should be able to store about 20,000 characters. Try re-setting the type of your text area field…on the “manage database fields” page.

    Hej
The text is simply cut off after about 240 characters meaning I can tell from the sentance that the paragraph isn’t finished or it has simply cut off in the middle of a word. I can not find the missing text in the CSV, the list participants view or in the email sent to me with all the info. The person has written more text which simply isn’t saved anywherem, it is lost I guess.

As I had problems with creating my own data fields and took the ones that came with the plug-in I simply adjusted the form element to what I needed. I had changed the photo field to text area and now that I used a field that was a text area to begin with it seems to be working with long texts.

The sad thing is that the texts that have been cut off, the missing last bits of them are now lost forever ?? such a shame as it is a comeptiton and some of the texts were very good.

Well, I’m sorry about that. Not sure why you had to resort to creating your fields that way, but changing the form element shouldn’t have cut off the data. You should look at the database itself and make sure that the text area field is a “TEXT” data type so you have plenty of room for the entries.
